Ted Lassofollows college-level American football coach Ted Lasso (Sudeikis) as he’s tapped to lead fictional English Premier League team AFC Richmond, without prior experience working in soccer. The goofy character is filled with motivational speeches and often attempts to get approval from his boss Rebecca Welton (Waddingham).
In addition to Sudeikis, Goldstein, 41, and Waddingham, 47, the series also stars Jeremy Swift,Juno Temple, Phil Dunster andNick Mohammed.
Sudeikis has been on a big winning streak for his efforts inTed Lasso. In addition to winning theSAG Awardin the male actor comedy series category a few weeks ago and last year, he has also won twoGolden Globe Awardsand anEmmy Award.
“I reject the notion of winning something called a ‘Best Actor’ trophy,” he toldEntertainment Weeklyin June 2021. “It’s only a reflection of who I get to act with.”

Ted Lassowasrenewed for a third seasonin October 2020. Since then, Sudeikis has addressed the show’s future going forward.
“I feel like a real coach when I have to tell folks you can’t look at season 4 when we’re in the middle of season 3,” the comedic actor toldEntertainment Tonightin October 2021.
The father of two added, “We can’t worry about the championships when we’re in the first round of playoffs, you know? We got to take it one game at a time.”
The 27th annual Critics Choice Awards are airing live on The CW and TBS from 7 to 10 p.m. ET.
