Lady Gagatook home her third Grammy of the night thanks to her smash hit “Shallow” fromA Star Is Born.
Gaga nabbed the award for best pop/group performance for the film’s duet at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night, beating out Christina Aguilera andDemi Lovatofor “Fall in Line,” Backstreet Boys for “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” Tony Bennett and Diana Krall for “S Wonderful” and Maroon 5 andCardi Bfor “Girls Like You.”
“I gotta thank God, thank you for looking out for me. Thank you for my family at home, I love you,” Gaga said as she held back tears. “If I don’t get another chance to say this: I just want to say I’m so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues. They’re so important. And a lot of artists deal with that and we got to take care of each other. So if you see somebody that’s hurting don’t look away. And if you’re hurting, even if it might be hard, try to find that bravery within yourself to dive deep and go tell somebody and take them up in your head with you. I love you. Thank you so much to the Grammys.”

Gaga and Cooper’s victory comes after the singer took home the 2019 Critics’ Choice Award for best song for “Shallow” fromA Star is Born(andthe same night Cooper picked up an award for the film’s musicacross the pond at the BAFTAs). Gaga also won best song for visual media for “Shallow” and best pop vocal performance for “Joanne” before the show.
“Shallow”also won best original song at the 2019 Golden Globeson Jan. 7.
“I just have to say, as a woman in music, it is really hard to be taken seriously as a musician and a songwriter,” Gaga said on stage at the time. “These three incredible men… they lifted me up and supported me … Bradley, I love you.”
The 61st AnnualGrammy Awardsare broadcasting live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
