Since before the service even launched , Quibi has been locked in an ongoinglegal skirmishwith interactive video house Eko over its signature tune Turnstyle characteristic , which is the applied science at the essence of the entire point of Quibi . In a statement cited byVariety , Eko lawyer Neel Chatterjee said the society plans to “ smartly pursue Eko ’s right to ensure that Quibi does not exacerbate the damage it has already caused . ”

“ We have put Quibi on card that it can not just wind down its clientele , send its investors hundreds of millions of buck and sell its stolen technology to a third party without first resolving its subject with Eko , ” Chatterjee say .
Multiple paper have said Quibi is now focussed onreturning capitalto investors , though founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman maybe out trillion .
Neither Quibi nor Eko directly returned requests for comment .
In ajoint statementabout their decision to end the service , Whitman and Katzenberg said Quibi ’s failure was probable the outcome of two principal causes : “ because the approximation itself was n’t hard enough to justify a standalone streaming inspection and repair or because of our timing . ” They added that in the coming months they would “ be working severely to find out buyer for these valuable assets who can leverage them to their full potential . ”
Quibisaid this weekthat it expects its service to end “ on or about Dec. 1 , 2020 , ” meaning Quibi will still technically be operational for several more weeks . Evidently , that ’s all the same to Eko , which appear more than willing to draw out a petty legal fighting over technology that virtually no one used .
