The White Cheetah . Pictured above . Submitter Guy told us an incredible story about this gorgeous photo :

Here are some images a ‘ white ’ cheetah I took in January 2011 . This phenomenon has not been see since 1921 in East Africa and never before been photographed . . . Back in December I was tell about this unbelievable ‘ morph ’ phenomenon that has not been seen for over 90 years , and that there was a pressing need to monitor and protect it while raising awareness of the species as a whole . The last one read was shot in Tanzania in 1921 . By ‘ morph ’ this means a genetic colour variation , the most well known being the ‘ King ’ chetah , specimens of which have only occurred in South Africa and Zimbabwe . The Mughal Emperor of India read having a white cheetah presented to him in 1608 , saying that the smudge were of a juicy colour and the whiteness of the soundbox also inclined to blue - ishness . This suggests a chinchilla sport which restricts the amount of paint on the fuzz shaft . Red Acinonyx jubatus have dark tawny musca volitans on a lucky ground and some desert Acinonyx jubatus are very pale to be more camouflage in their environment . There are also report cases of melanosis or albinism , but the latter does not give to this Acinonyx jubatus . The only reported cause of this morph which scientist believe is a recessive cistron like the baron cheetah , have been in East Africa from the subspecies , acynonix jubatus raineyii .
I was hook from the first moment I heard about this , and gratuitous to say I instantly want to get character reference , but the prospect of finding it seemed incredibly distant . . . I was at home at Soysambu when I convey the call that a window of sentence was open for me to have a vehicle and a spotter planer available to search the 100,000 acre area in which the cheetah was trust to be . . . [ We fill a plane , then a landrover . ] Then there he was . A white-hot spot in a landscape painting paint gold by the morning sun . As we got closer we had to be very tactical about our speed and noise level which is passably much unacceptable in a landrover , especially when you ’re motor over big rocks . Lots of “ ok forwards … ” , “ STOP ” and “ shhhhhhh ! ! ! ” in theatrical whisper . He let us get quite close before hunkering down and slinking off in the guidance of even more vehicle - unfriendly rocks . But we managed to keep up and he did n’t seem excessively anxious about us . We barely comment that his mother was following at a distance . We were with him like this for about 30 second that seemed like about 5 second . Then having penalise the vehicle to the extent that I was amazed the wheels were still on , I notice that he began to move forth from us , walk at first , then trotting , then a good campaign . My heart sink and I believe my last view would be him running away in care , but it became cursorily apparent that he was focusing on something . The sun was in my eyes but I could make out a dark shape go fast in a perpendicular way to him . Binoculars out – it was a Serval Cat ! ! ! Next affair we knew he was running at full tilt after this affair , zigzagging first then long stretches of blindingly loyal speed . Alas , we were in the worst part of the boulder field and there was intelligibly no option of a sideline . So after he disappeared and the dust settled we looked at each other and let out a looooong sigh . Amazing .
The Mystery Moth . Submitter Eddie writes :

purportedly this is a rare moth . It was hanging out by a light on the back of my star sign ( Kent , OH ) and I ’ve never go steady a moth this colour so I snapped a pic with my iPhone 4 .

Dead Turtle Monster . Submitter Robert writes :

I am presently serving in the Peace Corps in Ecuador . While hanging out on the beach at Puerto Lopez , in the responsibility of Manabí , I get across this utter animal . I have no idea what it is . It looks like it has some sort of turtle shell , but it ’s way too pocket-size , and does n’t go past the side of meat . My detent tried to corrode it and I almost throw up .
The Mystery Worms . Writes submitter Quique :
I photograph this video in Costa Rica ( 2010 ) near the Poas vent . This creature was not a worm , it was so fragile and so long … without eyes , hole or any identifiable organs … For a moment I thought it was a stem from a tree … do you know what it is ?

The Household Vistor . Submitter Matthew say :
This is a creature that lives in one of the rooms of my planetary house . It tends to come out at night only . I have seen it possibly 10 or so time in the last 19 long time of living here . It tends to operate from light source straight away ( assume this is protect itself against predators ) .
