Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompsonis remembering her late sister,Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
On Monday, the reality star, 18, shared a heartbreakingTikTok videothat featured photos of Cardwell and their family as a rendition ofBenson Boone’s “In The Stars” played in the background.
Fans of theToddlers & TiarasandHere Comes Honey Boo Boostars first learned ofCardwell’s deathat age 29 through anInstagram postfrom their mom,Mama June Shannon, on Sunday.
“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that@annamarie35is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” Shannon, 44, wrote next to a family photograph. The family matriarch noted that Cardwell “passed away with her family around her” and thanked fans for their “continued prayers and thoughts.”
Apart from Cardwell and Thompson, Shannon isa momto Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 27, andLauryn “Pumpkin” Efrid, 23. Cardwell was alsoa mom to two daughters— Kaitlyn Elizabeth, 11, and Kylee Madison, 8. Her death comesmonths after she was diagnosedwithstage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
In anInstagram poston Friday, Shannonasked her followers to keep her family in their thoughtsand included the hashtag#cancersucks. Efrid shared the heartfelt plea on her Instagram Story, adding, “Say a prayer for our family.”
After Cardwell’s death, Thompsonopened up about the emotions she feltwhile watching Cardwell’s cancer journey.
“Watching my 29 year old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy. Anna was a fighter & still is. Lord please wrap your arms around her 2 babies & our family as the next couple of days will make this all a reality 🥹,” she wrote onInstagram. Thompson also vowed to keep Cardwell’s memory alive.
“We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever. And I promise to always make sure to celebrate our birthday like you never left! The sky looks a little bit different today. We will always love you Anna 💔. You hit me hard with his one Anna but I know your in a better place now and pain free forever,” she added in the caption.
